I will try to mail one or two individual salts for around $3.00 but understand that some packages (and particular salts) will weigh more and require higher postage. Then I will mail Priority Mail for $4.95. Insurance is optional, but recommended. I can't be held responsible for loss or damage if you elect not to take it. I accept payment via PayPal, which allows use of credit cards, if desired. Email NINA to buy or for more information. |

OSC 318 Cloisonne enamel swan or fantasy bird with a fish in its mouth. This is a beautiful salt and in excellent condition with the exception of the top surface of the swan's beak, where the enamel has been badly chipped. I did not even notice this when I purchased the salt. Other than this, it appears to be in mint condition. I think it is a piece you will enjoy quite a lot if you can overlook this minor flaw. OSC 181 This is the salt that is shown in the book. It is a really lovely example of a spatterglass salt, very controlled decoration that has a scale effect. I have (somewhere... no hope of putting my hands on it any time soon, I'm afraid) a copy of an old catalog from the Bennington Museum in which they featured a pair of salts EXACTLY like this one, same decoration, same rigaree feet and petals surrounding the bowl. This is in very nice condition. The feet have been ground slightly from beneath to make the salt sit flat on a table - this, I'm confident, was done in the making. Two of the feet have what might be a small chip out of them, but it could also be where the grinding exposed an open area due to the uneven edge of the rigaree. (287)(2/8) |
