"CARLTON CHINA W&R STOKE ON TRENT" HEART SHAPED OPEN SALT This "Carlton China" open salt is made in the shape of a heart. The exterior is painted a bright orange, topped off with a black rim and the interior is a glossy cream color. The black backstamp has two consecutive circles with a crown on the top and a bird in the middle with the words "W&R STOKE ON TRENT, CARLTON CHINA". HAND PAINTED "PRE WWII" NORITAKE THREE FOOTED OPEN SALT This lovely and highly detailed Noritake open salt is round and rests on three gracefully arched feet accented with brown stripes. The interior of the bowl is hand painted with a floral design in shades of cream, green and brown and is finished off with a chocolate brown rim. It is marked in green "HAND PAINTED NIPPON" with the letter "M" in the center of a wreath. H&J 367 CIRCA 1890-1900, AMBER FOOTED MASTER/TABLE OPEN SALT This master or table size dark amber glass footed open salt is an oval shape with large diamond designs cut around the exterior of the bowl. The four corner feet extend upwards in a stair step design. The heavy glass has very few bubbles leading me to believe that this may be the older salt and not one of the newer repros, as the have numerous bubbles. Also the bottom of this salt has a slightly indented swirl pattern to it. It measures 1-3/8" high by 2-5/8" long by 2" wide and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or fleabites and only minor mold roughness to the rim. (324)(3/1) |

H&J 1408-10 Similar CIRCA 1900, NIPPON GOLD GILT AND ROSES CHINA OPEN SALT This circa 1900, Nippon china open salt has an elaborate hand painted design of pink roses and green leaves embellished with lots of gold gilt flowers, swirls and rim accents. Marked on the bottom in blue "HAND PAINTED NIPPON" with a little flower, it measures 5/16" high by 1-7/8" in diameter. CLEAR GLASS OVAL INTAGLIO WITH ROSES AND AQUA BLUE GEMSTONES This clear Intaglio has a spray of roses etched into the bottom of the salt. Oval in shape it has a beveled rim with a raised diamond pattern and aqua blue gemstones (16 in all) between each diamond design. The etched roses are cut deeply into the glass showing fine detail and are nicely frosted. It measures 2-5/8" long by 2-1/8" wide by 1/2" high and is in very good condition with all gemstones present, no cracks and only one tiny outer rim chip that is difficult to spot because of the elaborate design. H&J 392 and OSC 265 SCARCE CIRCA 1885 MARKED SOWERBY PURPLE SLAG GLASS From England, this scarce circa 1885 Sowerby open salt is done in delightful shades of purple and white slag glass. Its boat shaped design has two open-ended handles and it sits on a pedestal base. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with flowers and leaves and finished off with a beaded rim. The interior of the bowl is marked with Sowerby's registry mark of a Peacock head which dates from about 1880. It measures 3-1/8" long form handle tip to handle tip, 1-3/4" wide and 1-3/4" high to the tope of the handles. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. (347)(3/1) |

H&J 141 Similar GERMAN GREEN GLASS PEDESTAL TABLE/MASTER This German made table/master open salt has a clear glass bowl that has a gold gilt overlay with acid etched and frosted grapes and vines.
